History of UDOYON
UDOYON is a Bangladeshi Cultural Organization, founded in 1992 in Baltimore, MD, by Dr. ATM Shamsul Hoque and Dr. Afzal Chowdhury and with an active initiative of Ms. Rubina Karim. Late Mrs. Jaheda Begum, a well-known Nazrul getee singer, was honored as the Director with Ms. Rubina Karim as the Deputy Director of the Cultural Organization.

UDOYON started its journey with a Grand Opening Cultural Show at the Johns Hopkins University Auditorium at the School of Public Health, Baltimore, in 1992. UDOYON continued to celebrating major Bangladeshi cultural festivities, including EKUSHE FEBRUARY, BIJOY DIBOSH, EID REUNIONS, and POHELA BOISHAKH for several years.

UDOYON's cultural activities became less proactive as our beloved Director Mrs. Jaheda Begum got sick and diagnosed with cancer. After a long battle, she passed away a few years ago.  Today, we deeply miss our former Director Mrs. Jaheda Begum and continue to pray for the departed soul.

Our Mission
After a long detachment with the organizational activities, again, Ms. Rubina Karim took an active initiative and discussed with Dr. Afzal Chowdhury to re-unite UDOYON and to resume the journey with a slogan "Rise of the Next Generation". Udoyon's mission is to
promote cultural and educational events to encourage young generation within our community.  Arrange fun filled outdoor activities such as play day, picnic, sports, cultural events etc.  We create a platform to showcase and motivate young generation by involving them in cultural diversity through our cultural exchange programs.
At the same time, our cultural events will generate funds for needy children in Bangladesh and around the world.  UDOYON Inc. has a program to provide support to the children with hunger, medical needs, and educational support. Our program include Health Camp, Educational workshop, Scholarship, Food, Clothes and Toy drive to help the unfortunate children’s within our community and around the world.
Our programs include sending out ambassadors to raise social consciousness about the cause and to hold fundraising events in order to provide immediate relief and assistance to those needy children regardless of their race, ethnicity, or religion.

Our Vision
UDOYON encourages our new generation to exchange and promote Bangladeshi culture among people from different cultures, ethnicities, faiths and social backgrounds. Our vision is to share and diversify the cultural values through a mutual understanding of cultural exchange.  UDOYON encourages our youth in achieving a progressive life by involving them in cultural activities and building a better society for future.
